Beauty Haul+Review

Fulfilling my promise to you guys about some haul I got yeah! I decided to kind of introduce some of the things I got from all my previous trips slowly since using them from several months to a couple years now, I can finally attest to their use and hence I will put in bit by bit so bear with me. With that said lets start with the beginning of my current skincare routine:

Fresh Rose Cleansing Foam
Starting with the cleansing of the face, I'm not going to lie but ever since Sephora open up here in KK, I have made quite a few splurges since I finished my cleanser and toner that I usually buy from my facialist/esthetician. However her stuff are uber expensive and not really in stores anywhere else. Hence determined to find a cheaper alternative, I was more than excited to venture into what the sales associates (Fun fact: they are actually called "cast members" and the sales floor are the "stage") would recommend. I always went for as natural as I could afford because I didn't want to expose my skin with any harmful chemicals and so I got introduce to the US based brand "Fresh". Under the natural category I was looking for, it also had a lot of good reviews and what seems like a strong customer base to back them up. Starting from their latest Rose Collection, I got this cleansing foam that smells heavenly and its paraben free. I honestly had a lot of fun putting this on because its been a long while I used foam-based cleanser and there were definitely some tiny bubbles flying that made showering a lot more pleasant. However, being a combination skin type, this didn't made any improvement and also really dry out my face rather avoiding stripping any essential moisture. So this one wasn't for me.

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
After finishing the rose cleanser, I didn't had time to look for a new one so I had to share with my mother's who got her's from Fresh's Soy Collection. This is a gel type which usually is ideal for my skin type and unlike the rose, it states it would gently clean out make-up all the way to your pesky mascara and I do use concealer often so was assured this would work maybe just shy off fine from the rose for me. I didn't really panic at the switch but I didn't expect how well it would work on me. It has similar ingredients promoted on the tube as the previous but it differ with its amino acid-rich (the nutrient suppliers to your skin and even hair plus nails) soy proteins while still also consisting rosewater and cucumber extract. This is like a game changer for my skin because I feel it really gets my make up out and I don't leave the shower feeling like my natural oils have been sucked dried. My acne are tamer and I just feel my skin is better in general. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this one.

Fresh Rose Floral Toner
This would be my favourite out of all the stuff here and I would recommend this to anyone no matter the skin type. Their is a hype about rosewater, heck you could naturally make your own and reap its hydrating benefits that ancient royal queens and princesses have sworn by. A spray of this and not only is it actually refreshing as the fine liquid lands on your skin, you can feel the fresh (pun not intended) penetrating through your pores like mint does when it comes in contact wit your tongue. My Mum loves this as much as I do that we got a second bottle without a doubt when we ran out of the first. It sets a foundation for what comes after and I even spritz over my make-up in midday when the heat is wearing me down. It not only does wonders to your skin but your energy just feels recharged while making you look recharged. Rarely does a product that says its refreshes really means it when applied but this I can confidently says it is what it states it is.  I can even say it is by far the best toner I have ever tried and love.

Skinfood's Black Sugar Perfect First Serum Gold
The name sounds like a mouthful but I have heard that this is just a slightly vamp up version of their original black sugar serum in which they just add gold specks in it. Corresponding to their 10th Anniversary (hence the special release of their all time best product), this was actually meant for my Mum but she forgot and I found it couple months back while looking through some stuff. Its meant to brighten the skin as well as have an anti-wrinkle effect. There is also a small package of these special cotton pads where one side is meant for where you pour the serum on and designed to exfoliate while the other side is just like any cotton pad for you to dab in any leftover serum into your skin. After more than a month, I am convinced that my skin have been brighter to the point people have asked about it but I also think that being indoors a lot lately due to my exams did decrease sun exposure. I do think theirs something moisture locking about the formula. I like to say that my skin feel even now maybe due to the special cotton pads but maybe not the gold flecks as I long finished that stuff and only applying it with normal cotton pads. I also think helps my skin absorb my moisturiser really well but whether I buy a second; I'm not too sure.

Fresh Rose Hydrating Gel Cream
I'm not sure if my esthetician ever noticed that I don't have any moisturiser at night because she only ever sold out sunscreen+moisturiser to me and I thought the consistency were far too thick for when I hit the pillows. So I decided to get one since I'm changing brand and just thought since I'm using fresh and I love the rose toner, I get this. I was worried since it was in gel form but it is non-sticky and it made my skin feel really supple and gave a dewy finish. I did think it really lock in moisture too. Keep in mind that even if you are the oily type, hydration and moisture is still key and I've notice my pores produce visibly less sebum since using it. It carries the same rosy scent so its nice to know my skin smell great and I really enjoy applying it.

Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer (Medium Tan)
I have serious panda eyes and they are not cute like the animal unfortunately. I had them for the last few years and its sort of my signature look as some friends would say but often in mornings, I wake up and think "I could scare people today". So one fine evening, I marched into Sephora with one goal; to dispel those mornings from conquering the rest of my days. I tried a couple products thanks to this really warming cast member whom I talked about stuff from "caking" and her cousin whom I may have met at school. Together we concluded this product as the winner as it gave a more natural coverage as well as as being multipurpose than the others and I just love it. It took me awhile to control how much I needed but after some small dabs under the morning light in the bathroom, this was a splurge worth its price. I finally look like I got 8 hours of sleep, no one asks me if I'm tired or not and I get to conceal any pesky zits. Goal accomplished.

Sephora's Instant Depuffing Roll-On Gel
Purchase at the same time as the concealer, I apply this before concealing my dark circles to decrease the appearance and even out the skin tone while as it states: depuff them. Initially, I thought it was worth a product's effort to try to tame the luggages below my eyes but I stood, no sat, corrected on the beauty bar in Sephora. The box it comes has a statistics of its effectiveness based on 57 volunteers and I now know what those woman in the 79% percentile mean. I even make it a point to apply this before I go to bed and wake up less of a zombie and more of a decent human. Would definitely consider purchasing this again.

Fresh Rose Face Mask (Sample)
Rarely will you leave Sephora without some samples but since I haven't use most of them long enough, I can only include this one that I've use plenty of times. Its a little extra something you guys can treat yourself with and I love it. Much like the toner, putting this on feels so refreshing and so cooling to the skin. Not only that, after 5-10 minutes, you're left with soft supple skin while smelling like roses with a nice earthy and slightly herbal scent that I can't stop getting a whiff of. I'm not sure how much is the normal tub cost but it is a splurge. However, it has really good reviews and whenever I need to restock my Fresh products, the cast members never failed to strongly suggest me this mask. Tip: Whether you got the sample or the real deal, store it in your refrigerator. The mask will be extra cooling to the skin and you feel like you're getting a spa treatment.

Tune Favourites

Hey guys. Just a quick correction from my previous post, its not mist, its a haze. Thanks to my ever loving brother for pointing it out. If there is something wrong with my post for me to check out, really feel free to comment on it! So as I said, lately its been a very laidback weather here and these are the songs that carried me through it. I might not be able to list all but just click here and you can find the rest on my SoundCloud. It's been awhile since the last Tune Favourite  and that means I've been listening a ton. 1. "Here" by Alessia Cara (Lucian Remix) This has been basically the soundtrack for my August and even now I can't but be so floored by this singer's voice. I discovered her from a youtuber I follow and never regretted the decision to subscribe to her Vevo channel. While the original is the stuff, I love how it was remix here and every decision made to create it is so spot on. Do check out her other singles like "I...

Newness

For those new to my blog, hi and thanks for stumbling here (whether accidentally or not I am grateful). If you generally want to know me, check out my profile so you know what you're in for. For those who knew about this blog, if you haven't noticed, I've made a few changes and this post entails the reason. I'm finishing high school and to be honest, I have no plans on my education past that but we'll eventually have to. However, I decided to take up on writing more despite the on coming responsibilities. I plan to write reviews, expressing my thoughts on  books and movie and the like. Post some outfits as well, just need to work on being able to pose head to toe whenever and wherever I can. So there's thing in my head that will be published in the future and so with that in mind, I decided to change the name (yes *Douglas, I can see you your smug smirk), look and give it slightly more clarity as to what I will post and what are they all about. It...

Into The Woods

Happy Belated New Year! I'm back in Seattle from Oregon, Portland, with so much to say and stories to share but just to attempt to start my blogging streak, here is my review on the recent movie of the musical "Into The Woods". Note: I'm no expert on movies, I consider myself kinda easy to amuse despite my habit of checking rotten tomato critics. And yes there are spoilers. Onto the review! Its about a 2 hour long movie but for a total movie and musical fan like me, it was worth it. Watching it with my cousin who is also a musical lover like me at Cedar Hill's Theatre was a thrilling and wonderful experience. The prologue starts with an introduction to the main fairytale cast, narrated by the character, The Baker, himself. Based off Brother Grimm stories which haven't quite been commonly known among society, it takes you to another altered dimension from the mainstream and happier version of the classic stories we grew up knowing. The ball Cinderell...
