Tune Favourites

Hey guys. Just a quick correction from my previous post, its not mist, its a haze. Thanks to my ever loving brother for pointing it out. If there is something wrong with my post for me to check out, really feel free to comment on it! So as I said, lately its been a very laidback weather here and these are the songs that carried me through it. I might not be able to list all but just click here and you can find the rest on my SoundCloud. It's been awhile since the last Tune Favourite and that means I've been listening a ton.

1. "Here" by Alessia Cara (Lucian Remix)
This has been basically the soundtrack for my August and even now I can't but be so floored by this singer's voice. I discovered her from a youtuber I follow and never regretted the decision to subscribe to her Vevo channel. While the original is the stuff, I love how it was remix here and every decision made to create it is so spot on. Do check out her other singles like "I'm Yours" and "Seventeen" . She also does her own video recording of her songs and she does some reallly goood impressions. She an upcoming artist that is most definitely one to watch.

2. "I Will Be There" by Odessa
Not exactly a new song but I heard somewhere on TV and it really clicked with me. It's the kind of song you play when you want to comfort someone. Show them their not alone in feeling down and that for them you, you're willing to be there for them to lean on. The tune and the harmony is so good and it really brings me back to my childhood for some reason. Makes you kinda melancholy which isn't necessarily a bad feeling. It is actually pretty calming.

3. "Little Bit More" by Bo Saris (Mousse T's Funk Remix - The Relfex Revision)
A lot of funk remixes you may find have the coolest beats. Sure not a lot of singing but the modernize version of retro is definitely my preferred hype song. This one is no doubt one of those. Its light but catchy.

4. "Beautiful Now" by Zedd ft. Jon Bellion
Love songs like these. It sort of reminds me off "On Our Way" by The Royal Concept with the sound of people singing together along the song. I love love LOVE the video. The cinematics and the glimpses of stories depicted really brought the song to a new meaning. One of my recent on-repeats.

5. "Ghost" by Halsey
I actually heard the remix of the song and never quite like it enough till I stumble upon the original and fell in love. Maybe its the approaching October, I'm not sure but I've been really listening to a bit of songs with a haunting element to it. Even if it wasn't represented as anything supernatural or scary. There is something beautiful about the lyrics, the tune and the way they all come beautifully. This song also has a bit of pop to it despite its name and its a love song so try giving it a chance. Ironically though the previous post also had a song titled "Ghost". Hmm.

6. "Girls Your Age" by Transviolet
Another "ghostly" tuned one however I love the unique melodious voice here and the lyrics are just spot on good.Once you get into it, it'll stick around for awhile. It's depicts the kind of girl version of playboys because no matter the gender, everyone has broke some hearts at one point or another.

7. "Murder On The Dancefloor" by Cooperated Souls
Now things are starting the get into a horror genre. Just kidding. This song couldn't be any further from that. Quite similar to song no. 3, its a funk dance song. There's just something about it that reminds me of the comedic side of horror while being super catchy and finger snapping; Michael Jackson's "Thriller" perhaps? If you're into some pop and disco, this is very much for you. Lift my mood up almost instantaneously.

8. "Tea Time" by Ouranos
Lastly is this pop sort of dance EDM sort of R&B sort of I'm not too sure exactly what genre but its really good. Jess Glynne comes to mind here when I listen to it. It start out with the literal sound of tea being poured which will confuse people who missed its name but after that its all good vibes. You kind feel like how its cover looks like. Weird but you're just going to have to listen to really find out.

That concludes this post. Thanks for reading and stopping by. Please comment if you got any recommendations for me to listen and look forward to the next one!

Newness

For those new to my blog, hi and thanks for stumbling here (whether accidentally or not I am grateful). If you generally want to know me, check out my profile so you know what you're in for. For those who knew about this blog, if you haven't noticed, I've made a few changes and this post entails the reason. I'm finishing high school and to be honest, I have no plans on my education past that but we'll eventually have to. However, I decided to take up on writing more despite the on coming responsibilities. I plan to write reviews, expressing my thoughts on  books and movie and the like. Post some outfits as well, just need to work on being able to pose head to toe whenever and wherever I can. So there's thing in my head that will be published in the future and so with that in mind, I decided to change the name (yes *Douglas, I can see you your smug smirk), look and give it slightly more clarity as to what I will post and what are they all about. Into The Woods

Happy Belated New Year! I'm back in Seattle from Oregon, Portland, with so much to say and stories to share but just to attempt to start my blogging streak, here is my review on the recent movie of the musical "Into The Woods". Note: I'm no expert on movies, I consider myself kinda easy to amuse despite my habit of checking rotten tomato critics. And yes there are spoilers. Onto the review! Its about a 2 hour long movie but for a total movie and musical fan like me, it was worth it. Watching it with my cousin who is also a musical lover like me at Cedar Hill's Theatre was a thrilling and wonderful experience. The prologue starts with an introduction to the main fairytale cast, narrated by the character, The Baker, himself. Based off Brother Grimm stories which haven't quite been commonly known among society, it takes you to another altered dimension from the mainstream and happier version of the classic stories we grew up knowing.
