DIY: Flower crown

Few months back I had made my own lipstick and the next thing I felt like doing was a flower crown. Yes, they were quite the huge trend among teenagers, particularly in the US where it was concerts season and flower crowns were the norm to wear. I don't know where those girls got there flower crowns but I was really hooked to getting one when I watch this youtube video by Forever21 who upload a couple of DIY tutorials. I thought it was pretty easy and I knew which stores to get the materials and thankfully also have a friend who diys for cosplaying. So I manage to borrow some wires and a glue gun from her and it just made things easier for me.

Things needed:
- Glue gun
- Fake flowers (try get detachable ones)
- Felt material (preferably green coloured, though any color can do really)
- Some thin bendable wires
- Scissors

This isn't a tutorial so this is gonna be simple and brief. So I measured my head with one wire and after marking it, continue making it have more structure with more wires.

Then I cut some piece of felt. Originally I started out with square but it didn't cover enough area when I attempt to pinch them onto the stem of the flower with the wire. It look like it would come off easily as it didn't had a good hold of the flower and the hot glue can pour out the gap easily when I pinched so eventually I cut out rectangular shaped ones instead. After I put on glue on the felt, I would quickly take a flower that was place on the wire or in the gaps between the wires and pinch it with the felt. I continued this and should look like this:

It looks pretty ugly to me seeing it from this angle but when you put it on, no one can really see the green felt which was a relief. And I chose black and white flowers because both colours were really good so might as well have the best of both worlds right?

And voila! Now I don't know where I would wear this as there isn't much concerts going on usually and there are lately but there all taken place in KL. Though I do plan to use it for my second photo shoot with some friends and we'll mostly continue use it for photography related activities. This is all for now but there is gonna be another post soon! Seeya!

2021 Update

Hi readers if I still have any. I know its been two whole years since my last one and the reasoning the same. I am still doing my degree and technically in my final semester but with everything going on right now I am still the same girl with new different things to be anxious about. I am not sure if this means I am back on the blogging grind but I weirdly still feel a need to update on where I am, where you could find me more if not this blog and it felt like the mood to write this came and I jumped on it.     So I am right now trying to do my best with doing my final stretch of degree on a virtual online platform and my weakness for getting things done and time managing hit me so hard. Not being able to be where my family is right now in Sabah has caused tons of different strains no one is prepared for but I want to leave you all also things I am doing to do to try work on it. I am taking therapy (it has been hard work but its definitely relieved my emoti...

Shades Of Cool

My friend, Fran (imagine the puns made with her name), and I had conducted couple of photo shoots since last year. Last Saturday was our third shoot till a long time considering we are all mostly likely gonna be busy for a while since graduating form high school. It's also by far the best I had, even considering that our only cameras were her sister's iPhone 4 and my Sony Xperia Z2. Quick note on my smartphone: I wanted to find one with the best camera and this totally fit my criteria of the perfect camera. Its manual function allows me to control ISO, focus on certain objects whilst giving a blur background similar to that of a DSLR and capture amazing details. Basically, I take all my photos with it. For this shoot, we went for a minimalist grunge as the theme. For once we went for something really simple but not understated at all. In their basic apparels, the models, Cristy (left) and Chan Yng (right), wore delicate necklaces and rings provided by me. They shine ...

Haul+Review: Beauty Care Edition II

THE FACE SHOP GREEN TEA FACE MASK The cool thing about masks from The Face Shop is that you can find ones that are real cheap, like around RM6 cheap. Of course for one sheet you may think it isn't exactly a steal but in comparison to most brands in drugstores like Watson and Guardian, its far better. There is also something non-sticky and easily absorbed about their formulas that makes this a treat from mother nature herself. This one is meant to soothe irritation and revitalises your skin. I usually stock on this when my face is having its occasional red breakout and it does its job decently. Better if you popped this out from the fridge. My skin feels really nice to the touch and I always feel a sense of satisfaction when an ugly bump shrinks down considerably. MEDIHEAL I.P.I LIGHTMAX MASK This one offers, you guess it, brightening effect with some moisture enhancement. I specifically used it on a very particular busy day where my skin just felt exhausted and du...
